KC + MARY BETH
ST. HENRY CHURCH | FRANKLIN, TENNESSEE
One of our favorite parts about this couples unique wedding was that so many of their friends and family traveled to Nashville for the first time to be a part of KC & Mary Beth’s special day. That includes their wedding party! Only one of the groomsmen lives locally, everyone else showed their love and support by traveling great distances to watch their dear friends get married. The couple met at Centennial Park in Nashville.
Bridal prep is so much fun to photograph! The ladies were having so much fun at the salon when we first arrived. They were sipping mimosas, relaxing, and enjoying having their hair styled. And we get to capture those moments. We take a photo-journalistic approach when photographing this time, capturing the natural candid moments as they unfold.
KC & Mary Beth chose to have a very active and fun day. We made several stops with them before heading to the church for their 7 PM ceremony. We first met up with the girls at the salon for their hair styling appointments, then headed to their hotel room for makeup & dressing. Mary Beth’s dress & cathedral veil were absolutely stunning. She found the dress at the same store that all of her sisters purchased their wedding dresses from. How sweet of a tradition is that to have within your family?
Once everyone was ready, we all boarded the party bus to head to the Nashville waterfront for the couples first look & wedding party photos. One of the great parts about photos downtown is that we get beautiful park settings as well as urban photoshoot locations. After the park we made a stop on the pedestrian bridge before heading to play mini golf! After everyone refreshed with an Icee, the party bus stopped at Jimmy Johns to pick up subs and then dinner was eaten at the church before the ceremony. This was one of our most active wedding days and everyone had so much fun — even in the extremely humid weather.
Sorority weddings always make for the best receptions! Candle passings, songs, stomping, & other celebratory traditions always make for a lively reception. For Mary Beth, her Kappa Deta sisters chose to honor their sisterhood with a candle passing and song. We always look forward to this part of the evening.
