THANKSGIVING & CHRISTMAS PLANS
We trade of going to Pat’s parents & my parents for Thanksgiving and Christmas – provided we can slip away and do not have any weddings that keep us here in Tennessee. This year we will be headed to Florida to spend with my family. We’re really looking forward to baking cookies, non stop Scrabble games with Grandma, and long nights of movie marathons with my siblings. It’s fantastic to visit during the holidays because my grandparents are visiting from Oregon for the winter so we get to spend time with them too! Some nights we find time to slip away to visit with our friends from our time working at Disney. It’s going to be a great time!
Since we’ll be spending Thanksgiving in Florida that means it’s Pats’ parents turn for Christmas this year. When we first began dating and our first few years of marriage Christmas at the Dooleys would mean an ice cold snow covered winter wonderland in Michigan. But, a few years ago they moved back to their hometown in Indiana, just about 20 minutes outside of Louisville. Pat’s mother and I began a fun tradition in the past few years that we decorate her Snow Village together. We have such a great time creating the roads and communities, flocking the town in snow, lighting the village and placing the people throughout – getting coffee, singing outside the church, snowball fights in the park, and visiting the bed and breakfast. And when we finish that, it’s time to make cookies & start puzzles!
