4 REASONS TO DESIGN YOUR OWN WEDDING RING

Once you’ve picked the date, finalized the venue, and found the perfect bridal gown, it’s time to think about the wedding rings. A wedding ring symbolizes your union with your partner and is a representation of the vows you will exchange. Most couples love the idea of having something that is unique only to them, and they take great care in finalizing a ring and ring design. It is essential to select and choose something that you will love and cherish since you would be wearing your wedding ring for the rest of your life.

At our company, we’ve catered for the idea of ‘creating your own ring’ over the last year and we’ve found it’s been a very popular concept. Again, couples want something that’s special to them, that’s unique to them, and designing your own ring is the best way to achieve this. The memories you create spending a day with your partner crafting your rings adds to the wedding experience as a whole and come the big day, looking down at your ring and knowing that – like your marriage – it’s something you built together is priceless.

Most couples today prefer unique and distinctive wedding bands that hold special meaning and value to their shared lives together. These wedding rings also sing of the couples’ journey along and their hopes for the future. There are many aspects like metal, sparkle, weight, durability, and stones to getting the ring right and when you can choose for yourself, disappointment or compromise becomes a thing of the past.

But let’s be a little more focused on this topic, here’s four reasons to design your own wedding ring.

1 – UNIQUENESS

The most significant reason for not selecting off the shelf rings is the uniqueness offered. You and your partner might not opt for something flashy and might opt for something simple. They are still bespoke rings for the quality and detail they receive. Many couples like to engrave unique messages for each other on the wedding rings, while some have a particular affinity for a specific metal. Some couples even love incorporating family heirloom designs into their bands so that they feel connected to their roots as they build a new future together. Since every romance is unique, it stands to reason that the rings should also be individual.

2 – GETTING IT DESIGNED

The journey of togetherness gets amplified when couples sit together and create their own rings. The feeling of closeness, love, and romance gets even more intimate through stolen glances and smiles once couples sit together and plan their rings. You can share concepts, designs, sketches, and photographs of the rings you like or would like to have and then a little later get the tools out and start crafting! Many couples enjoy this reason of design more than the rings! Apart from the excitement and chaos surrounding the planning of the wedding, designing the rings brings peace and love to many couples.

3 – SELECT THE CORRECT METAL

Traditional wedding bands are yellow gold and plain. Couples today opt for slightly modern metals like white gold, rose gold, and platinum to add their personalized touch to the tradition of exchanging rings during their vows. Although selecting the right metal is a personal choice, many couples like to merge or have more than one metal on their wedding rings to signify their union and togetherness. White gold, yellow gold, and rose gold intertwined bands are soon becoming a favorite of many couples. Some couples also opt for different colored stones that signify a special place and purpose in their lives. You should decide whether you want the wedding rings to be of the same metal as the engagement rings or something that would contrast, yet compliment it.

4 – PAIR THE RINGS

Many couples opt to get their wedding rings in pairs – these might not necessarily be similar pairs, but slightly similar. The trend today is to create something that holds special meaning to each other yet get contoured designs that are unique to your individuality. Differently colored stones or metals with similar patterns are one of the ideas that many couples seem to love. It affords them the leeway to show their individualism yet showcase their joint bond together. Some couples also like to engrave the initials of their partner on the inner side of the ring. Pairing the rings is a beautiful way to create a new meaning for your wedding and subsequent married life together.

Whatever your reasons for designing your own wedding rings, ensure that your rings are symbolic of the love that you and your partner share. Always remember that your wedding rings are a physical representation of the love and romance in your life. You and your soul mate will be together on this wonderful journey – let your rings be as unique as the love you both share!
