A Sunflower & Lavender Spring Wedding

Y’all already know how deeply we adore and cherish each of our couples, so when it rains on one of their wedding days our hearts ache for them. This was the case with Jennifer and Austin. As they were getting ready we watched the skies darken and the clouds roll in, everyone anxiously watched the forecasts on their phones and prayed that the weather would clear up. And when you look through their beautiful wedding day you’ll see those prayers and wishes were answered… even if it was only for a few hours. Jennifer and Austin were able to have their dream ceremony and say their vows in the Secret Garden at Grace Valley Farm.

These two planned ahead and hired one of our very favorite planners, Raina, of Weddings & Events by Raina. She truly understood the couples vision and was able to deliver on special requests such as Jennifers’ childhood dream of riding in a horse drawn carriage to her ceremony. Umm… hello, fairytale! Plus, Jennifer’s mother surprised her with charms on her bridal bouquet showing old photos of loved ones. Such a special moment for the two of them to share after Jennifer’s first look with her father! Austin and his guys had a great time waiting out the stormy weather together, he even entertained them with some songs on his guitar. Jennifer’s so lucky to have found her country man who can also carry a tune beautifully!

But, my personal favorite moment from the entire day was when Jennifer began her long walk down the aisle with her father by her side. Austin could barely hold it together and as a few tears began to slip down his cheek all eye were on Jennifer with one exception. Austin’s mother, her own eyes tearing up, was looking at her baby boy as he watched his soon to be wife approaching. This was a ceremony of pure happiness and so much emotion.

Sunflowers are Jennifer’s favorite and inspired a lot of their wedding decor, which blended so perfectly with their country wedding. Being from the East Coast, a lot of the brides family came into Tennessee for the wedding. The couple treated their guests to some special southern sweets with favors of Goo Goo Clusters and Moon Pies. The brides parents surprised the couple by renting our new photobooth, which was a major hit amongst the guests and the couple was totally blown away by how cool the booth was and how much fun their friends and family were having with the props!
