Disney Wedding at The Venue at 939 Adams

WEDDINGS

October 11, 2018

RACHEL + JOE
THE VENUE AT 939 ADAMS | BOWLING GREEN, KY

When Rachel & Joe first contact us we all knew it was going to be a perfect fit because they also met while working at Walt Disney World! Joe is originally from Illinois but was going to school at Michigan State and Rachel was attending the University of Kentucky (spoiler alert – wait until you see her shoes!). Both of them decided to head to Florida for the Disney College Program, and the mouse had a plan for these two to find their fairytale story by placing them at the Disney Polynesian Resort where they became coworkers selling merchandise. And just like Pat & I their relationship developed from coworkers to friends to something much more.

After Joe’s program came to an end they were determined to stay together and have spent the roughly 7 years in a long distance relationship. Y’all, that’s true love and an incredible show of commitment. But it’s all worth it because now they get to spend forever together! So, how do 2 Disney lovers get engaged anyways? Joe popped the question at Epcot on Spaceship Earth (shoutout to one of our very favorite rides!!). This also happened to be a sentimental spot for the couple because Rachel first told Joe that she liked him while on this ride. Cue the awwws….

On their wedding day we first met up with the guys at their hotel room for some getting ready photos before heading over to the Venue at 939 Adams for photos with the girls. Of course, when you’re a Disney loving couple you have to have subtle nods throughout your wedding. One of my very favorites is Rachel’s wedding dress hanger.

The Venue at 939 Adams had this totally dreamy vintage couch that matched perfectly with Rachel’s sapphire blue Badgley Mischka that were a tribute to her time at University of Kentucky. Of course, she was smart and also grabbed some awesome Kate Spade Keds to switch into later in the night. Y’all, these are by 2 all time favorite shoes — I kinda get all swoony and heart eyed when my brides bring them out.

After their first look and some fun wedding party photos on the epic blue couch we left 939 Adams and headed to Living Hope Baptist Church for their ceremony. This is a beautiful chapel, especially with the stained glass detailing. Before heading back to 939 Adams we stopped at the Downtown Square in Bowling Green. We got so lucky, not only were we the only wedding party there but it was the absolute perfect light for photos! Everyone hopped back in to the limo to head to the reception for the grand entrance. After Rachel and Joe shared their first dance to “Making Memories of Us” by Keith Urban. The next few hours were filled with dancing, group photos, amazing toasts complete with Disney music interludes, an epic sparkler exit! Oh yeah and don’t miss the Disney details like the table numbers with different Disney hotels on them – seriously, how clever is this! Pretty much, this was the most perfect wedding day & we were so thrilled to spend it with them & their loved ones!

If you adored their beautiful wedding near the WKU campus, you’ll definitely adore this Bowling Green engagement session at Western Kentucky University!
