A Sage Green Spring Wedding at Travellers Rest

This wedding. Y’all. Their first look. You absolutely can not miss this first look. It had us in tears too!!  Not only is this wedding filled with the sweetest emotion but also an incredibly fun wedding party! With 36 people in their wedding party, how could it not be… well, a party?! And if you add Ajax, their adorable dog, that makes 37 for the wedding party! We have truly loved getting to know Eli & Anna Kate over the months of their engagement and could not possibly be more thrilled to have seen them officially become husband and wife.

When we first walked into the grooms room at Travellers Rest, Eli immediately let us know how anxious and excited he was to see his bride. He knew that he was going to absolutely breakdown when he saw her. Not only did he show so much emotion during the first look but he also teared up a ton during the ceremony. We absolutely love this. Many grooms believe that if they see their fiance before the ceremony it will somehow ruin the moment of her walking down the aisle. In fact, that’s not the case at all. We’ve found that our couples who decide to have a first look are so thankful that they did because it allows them to have a personal moment between the two of them without hundreds of eyes on them. They can express their emotions however they seem fit; and it often allows them to feel more relaxed and less anxious during the ceremony and soak it all in.

Canoes are a major part of their love story. When Anna Kate first saw Eli he was sitting beside a stack of canoes. When he proposed, he told her they were going to go buy a canoe, and instead he popped the question riverside. They used a canoe oar for their engagement photos & had boating details throughout their reception.

Anna Kate is originally from Mississippi and attended Ole Miss where she was a member of Delta Gamma. We love the way that she made her sorority sisters a part of the wedding day! So sweet & thoughtful. Eli attended Middle Tennessee State University and had loads of his college friends at the wedding as well.

The Company Band absolutely rocked the roof off of Travellers Rest! Everyone had such a fantastic time dancing, singing, & grooving to their sweet jams. Eli and his father even jumped in and took over for the band for a few songs. These two can rock like no one else! They have been jamming together since Eli was a small child. Seriously, Anna Kate is one lucky wife because her husband is an incredible drummer! Their friends and family (& us!) loved his performance with his father.
