A June Wedding at Cactus Creek Barn

We have been counting down the days until Brittany & BJ’s wedding at Cactus Creek Barn in Dickson, TN. Brittany and her mom first met us at a Perfect Wedding Guide Bridal show last spring. They’ve been on our calendar for a year & we couldn’t wait to be back out at the rustic venue again. Brittany & BJ are high school sweethearts and have been together for more than 6 years!

Hanging out with the girls during getting ready is always such a delight! Especially this group of ladies! While Brittany was having her hair and makeup done, they were practicing their line dancing. Needless to say there was a whole lot of laughter and fun being had in there. One of the really fun things about Cactus Creek Barn’s bridal suite is that there is a window that opens & the horses are able to walk right up and stick their heads inside! Plus, Connie & her team at the barn will bring carrots for the wedding party to feed to the horses!

During our final meeting with Brittany before their wedding, she asked if she could have time set aside to do a first look with her father. She and her mother smiled and laughed knowingly at one another because they knew he was going to cry. “She’s a daddy’s girl,” her mother said, to which Brittany nodded in agreement that her father was most definitely going to be emotional. So, needless to say, we were quite excited about witnessing this sweet moment. When her dad came through the door and saw her, both of them immediately started to tear up. Of course, Brittany started waiving her hands trying to prevent herself from crying and having her makeup run, haha. Once the emotions subsided a little, Brittany handed him a gift. The perfect moment between father and daughter.

BJ’s father had brought their vintage car for photos and as the couples getaway car. After their sparkler exit we took the two of the aside for a few minutes to get some beautiful photos of them in front of the car with the barn in the background. Night photos are some of our very favorite to take on a wedding day because they are so unique and beautiful. Of course, our couples and their families are also huge fans of these photos for the exact same reasons!
