6 Reasons You Should Have Your Wedding at Stones River Country Club

One of the hardest parts of planning your wedding is finding the perfect wedding venue. There are just so many great options to choose from that finding one that’s the right fit can be really time-consuming. A lot of couples look at hotels as the only in house catering venue, that’s not true though! In this week’s Wedding Wednesday, we’re going to take a look at one of our favorite local venues. Here are five reasons you should consider the Stones River Country Club in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

#1 -THEY ARE MORE THAN A SPACE, THEY ARE AN EXPERIENCE

“We’re full-service as far as the set-up. Catering. The essentials. We provide these services,” says Penny Haas, SRCC’s Director of Catering and Events. So not only do you get the venue and the event staff like you would at a typical location, but they have their own on-site catering. Also, they’ll cut the cake for you without a cake cutting fee! How awesome is that? You’d be surprised how actually rare that is.

#2 – YOU DON’T HAVE TO HAVE A MEMBERSHIP

That’s right, you don’t have to have be a member or have some secret in to host your wedding at their beautiful venue. “We want everyone to come up here. We like our space, so why not share it with you?” This seems to fly in the face of what most people think of a country club – that, as a private club, not everyone is welcome. She goes on to explain that you don’t need to be a member to host an event there (though there are perks to being a member, you’ll have to ask her for the insider tips!).

#3 – THE COUNTRY CLUB GROUNDS

What could be better than green as far as the eye can see? Once you’ve said “I do” (or maybe during your first look), there are no better views than the vast expanse of green and the gorgeous water features waiting for you if you hop in a golf cart and take off in search of the perfect backdrop. It is an absolutely beautiful space for Wedding Portraits! The plants and landscaping are an absolute dream & the ponds are incredible too! We just can’t get enough.

#4 – THE ELEGANT BALLROOM

Their main ballroom is elegant and can be opened up to fit 250 guests! Or if you are having a more intimate reception they can make the space smaller to fit your needs. The ballroom at it’s full size is a “kind of a blank canvas,” according to Penny. The ballroom has recently been remodeled in a neutral color palette, so all wedding colors looks perfect in the space!

#5 EVERYTHING YOU NEED

From getting ready space – there is a perfect spot for the bridal party to get ready in & the men can use a space as well. The best part is that the bridal suite is adjacent to the reception ballroom so you can easily slip away to do touch-ups during the evening! To the ceremony space – Be it indoor or outdoor, Penny has amazing options for you! Our favorite? A ceremony on the front lawn beneath the large trees. Cocktail Hour – there is a separate indoor ballroom space or outdoor space for your cocktail hour. The team at Stone River has the perfect option for whatever your vision. And into the reception – they have Tables (banquets or cocktail) and chairs, the dance floor. The best part though? You have Penny herself as your coordinator! She and her team are going to take fantastic care of you throughout the entire planning process!

#6 – THAT INCREDIBLE VIEW….

According to Penny, the number one thing that brides fall in love with at Stones River is the 100-foot-long balcony off of the ballroom. It faces west, so you get a perfect look at those Tennessee sunsets! And, oh, yeah, you can even use it for the ceremony location itself! We can absolutely see why couples choose the country club for this view alone, we were simply swooning over it & the sun hadn’t even set yet!
