Most everyone is a bit unsure what to do in front of a camera, no worries, we are there to help! We give you semi guided prompts that allow you to interact together and poses to give you direction and still feel natural and authentically you in your photos.
This is an important gathering! Ensure that you have mantel worthy family photos. Our experience ensures that groupings are professionally put together, well lit, and flattering. From just 2 people to groupings of 50, we're ready to get everyone organized!
We're all about vibrant dramatic photos throughout the entire day but our couples make sure to set aside time at sunset for colorful pictures as well as night time photos. These are great moments for the two of you to relax and soak in the moment.
Ivory Door Studio has been a staple in the Nashville Wedding and Event industry for a decade, through that experience we have established ourselves as one of the best Nashville wedding photographers because of our professionalism and photography experience. We love lighting. We bring our own discrete photography lights which allow for us to capture dramatic portraits throughout the day. Have a spot at your venue that you love but has essentially no light? Family photos inside a dimly lit church or with stained glass that you want featured in the photos too? No worries! We've got you covered no matter the setting because we can make our own light as needed.
Lighting is especially important for darkly lit receptions. We love and utilize the ambient light from uplighting, chandeliers, windows, and candles but pair it with our flash and we are able to capture all of that design details and light you and your guests so everyone is seen clearly. Afterall, you are investing in your photos, you will want to be able to see everyone and everything clearly, haha!
And when we take our flash outside at sunset and even after dark for night photos, it allows us to create truly special images for our wedding clients. When we are outside in the daytime with the beautiful sun coming through, we are absolutely going to use natural light as well. With us, you get experience and knowledge for the best photos no matter the time of day and what the natural light looks like.

Do you have liability insurance?
Once you drop us a line to connect we will reach out to you via email with more details & set up a time to chat [in person at our studio in Murfreesboro, via phone, Skype or FaceTime - we work with a lot of couples planning long distance] about #allthethings and get to know each other because we believe that creating a genuine relationship between you & your photographer is important. We will be with you on one of the most important days of your life - so, you better enjoy our company, haha!
Step 1 - Let's Connect!
After we all decide it's a perfect fit & you can't imagine your day without us there, the next step is to save your date on our calendar! And that part is super simple! You've decided which Collection you want, we will send you an online contract & invoice and go over payment options. To officially become an Ivory Door Couple we require a signed contract & an upfront retainer between $500 - $1500, depending on your Collection total. Then the date is yours - woot woot! Your balance is due 30 days before the wedding day.
Step 2 - Save Your Date!
Nervous about being in front of the camera, unsure what to do, had a horrible past experience, not sure how to stop feeling completely awkward? Honestly, that's totally normal! This is the #1 thing couples express concerns about when we first meet. Engagement Sessions are the perfect way to alleviate that unease & warm up in front of the camera - think of it like a practice before game day. We'll teach you what you need to know so you'll be a pro! And don't worry, we'll help you choose the season & location.
Step 3 - Engagement Photos
Your dress should be back from alterations about 2 months before your wedding, making that the ideal time for your bridal portraits. You'll also be doing a trial run of your hair & makeup, it's kismet! We've had brides realize that they can't walk because the hem is still too long, or that their bouquet was not what they were expecting - it helps to see everything from head to toe all put together. Plus, moms & grandmothers love seeing you & reflecting on their own bridal session prior to their own weddings.
Step 4 - Bridal Portraits
About 2 months before your wedding we will send you your wedding questionnaire. Based on your responses we will create your wedding photography timeline for you. After all, we're kinda pros at the details of a wedding day! Of course, we also will meet again about 2-3 weeks before the wedding to go over the timeline, make any necessary adjustments, and our favorite part - answer any questions you have about the big day, even if they aren't photo related!
Step 5 - Timeline Planning
Y'all get married. That's right, it's finally here!! Eek! We're pumped too, we've been counting down the days with you & it’s officially time to celebrate! We will do our best to help you stay on track with the timeline game plan, but it's your day & we want you to live in the moment! After all, the most important thing to us is that you look back on your wedding day and remember all of the joyful moments - because weddings should be more about fun than fuss. Oh, and we'll show you how to cut the cake!
Step 6 - The Big Day!!
We believe in having family heirlooms in addition to your Online Gallery, so we will invite you & your immediate family into our studio for a fun filled viewing party. We'll go through all of your fabulous photos together. You'll remember the sweet moments & laugh at your relatives crushing the dance floor. Your family will awww... at your couples portraits & you can think yassss #nailedit! Each of you can decide which unique keepsakes you would like from our menu - including albums, wall portraits, & canvases.
Step 7 - Viewing Party
After the wedding day y'all will take time to just be present and enjoy the moments together as husband and wife. You will also have private access to our Ivory Door Brides Facebook group where we share exclusive petite sessions. Our petite sessions are mini photoshoots at an amazing rate & expand outside of our normal offerings so we can offer you maternity photos, lifestyle sessions, family photos, holiday photos. Plus, your annual anniversary session!
