The Mitchell House Styled Wedding

One of the things that we love about The Michell House is that is also serves as the headquarters for Sigma Pi Fraternity. We have already had 2 Sigma Pi grooms and worked with several others in wedding parties! We had the pleasure of being introduced to Susan through one of those grooms, Chris, who is a Sigma Pi & works at their headquarters with Susan. Susan organized the events at The Mitchell House including weddings, receptions and their annual Open House. As one of the preferred photographers for The Mitchell House, they extended an invitation to us to be a part of their Open House this spring & we were honored to be able to accept.

We spent an afternoon at the historical space entertaining and chatting with other local vendors and local neighbors stopping in to meet with other small businesses and tour the beautiful space. We were in great company for this Open House! When we arrived we were greeted by some familiar faces; including, Two Monkeys Vintage! Which we were thrilled about because we knew they were leaving many of their beautiful vintage details at the venue for the styled shoot that was planned the following day. We had the pleasure of meeting the vision behind Belles Fleurs Designs and couldn’t wait until the next day to photograph the beautiful floral arrangements created by them.

And have we mentioned the rockstar talent over at Oh Crumbs Bakery!? Kitty is an amazing baker and we were beyond thrilled to photograph not 1, not 2, but THREE of her amazingly unique cakes! The soft mint green with intricate lace piping detailing is perfect for a spring wedding. Her unique marbled, geometrical cake with metallic copper finishing is unlike any cake we’ve seen. And, lastly, and let’s be honest, our personal favorite, is the breathtaking cake with the rich navy fondant, metallic gold flecks, and incredible rock candy geode design. It made me a little nostalgic for when I was a young child and my grandfather and I would collect rocks to add to my collection. My favorites of which were purple agate rocks. This luxe style cake is seriously right out of our dreams! And the way it paired with the glamorous dress provided by Karen Hendrix Couture was nothing short of jawdropping.

Basically, we had a fantastic time and loved being a part of this amazing styled photoshoot with numerous other local photographers. It was so much fun seeing so many of Nashville’s most prestigious vendors come together to put on this beautiful event. From the whimsical, vibrant colored glasses provided by Two Monkeys Vintage to the unique custom made jewelry Ariem brought in to accompany the ladies attire. And the team effort of handmade macaroons by Oh Crumbs Bakery complimented with calligraphy by Fanciful Ink.
