This romantic engagement session & proposal at Carnton Plantation is an absolute dream! Styled and planned by Weddings & Events by Raina we were beyond thrilled to photograph this styled proposal. We had such a fantastic time working with an amazing team of Nashville wedding vendors to bring style this photoshoot. After spending time with these two, and their super cute puppers (Jagger) we were beyond excited for their wedding day at Carnton next spring!! Jayde is a Phi Mu and her fiance, Dillon is a Lambda Chi Alpha so they have a large wedding party and we are so looking forward to the big day!
There are so many elements of this photoshoot that we are over the top in love with that it’s difficult to know what to tell you about first. The incredible outfits modeled by Jayde were provided by Sugarees Boutique on the Square in Murfreesboro. If you haven’t visited the local shop definitely add it to your next weekend adventure because the outfits in there are so unique and beyond amazing. From cute modern styles to vintage fair, they have a fantastic selection of clothing! The grey tux worn by Dillon was provided by our fav – Street Tuxedo! There’s no better local menswear than the team at Street! Your fiance and his guys will have a fantastic experience with them & your supporting a local business!

By now y’all are probably more than familiar with Primp This, we can’t get enough of Jessica and her flawless makeup artwork. I even have her do my makeup when I have photoshoot where I have to be in front of the camera. Go Gorgeous styled the couples hair and we have to say the two of them make a remarkable team! If you haven’t hired your hair and makeup team for your wedding day yet, don’t hesitate, contact them & book them now if they are still available for your date! Ahhh-mazing!
Now, I dreamt up this fabulous little idea for their dog – a flower covered leash. Because what’s more adorable than having your dog in your photos? That’s right, having your dog up their style game with a custom floral leash that matches your stunning flower crown! Because every bride should wear a flower crown at some point. Either for their engagement, bridal, or wedding — even if it’s just for the reception! With flowers this gorgeous we knew we needed to team up with a fabulous baker for the sweet treats for their garden picnic. Immediately we knew that Kitty with Oh Crumbs would create an incredible spread. And she didn’t disappoint at all! Seriously, Jayde & Dillon ate like 5 macaroons each plus cake, tarts, cake pops, and other goodies.
In addition to the dog leash I had a vision of a romantic night time proposal inspired by those dreamy moments on shows like Grey’s Anatomy and Where Lies the Heart. Raina and Carnton connected with the incredibly talented team of light designers at Bright Event Production to create the whimsical proposal spot. The other rentals such as the beautiful plates came from the amazing team at Southern Events. We love the glasses and silverware they provided! Tocci Calligraphy designed a custom engagement announcement for the couple with one of our very favorite floral and whimsy patterns and gorgeous envelope liner.

ABOUT CARNTON PLANTATION

The house at Carnton Plantation was built in 1826 and has been visited by influencial historical figured including President Andrew Jackson. If you haven’t had an opportunity to visit the historical location yet we highly recommend touring the landmark! There are a lot of really interesting spots in the house and on the land. Rental of Carnton Plantation include the use of their stunning bridal suite, rehearsal coverage, bridal or engagement photos, and use of the property depending on the size of your wedding and the locations you select. One of the really cool things that you can add onto your venue rental are house tours which is such a unique and fun way to entertain your guests during your reception!
