So, if you’re like a lot of brides to be you may be anxious about the weather of your wedding day. Sam & Ben were surprised by a rainy wedding but once y’all see how gorgeous their rainy wedding day photos are I know y’all are going to be a bit jealous and hope for some rain on your big day too so you an get some dreamy romantic rain photos! Their sweet wedding was at one of our absolutely favorite Murfreesboro wedding venues, The Barn at Stone Gate Farm & it was an amazing day! Even with the weather everyone guessing—we were dodging pop-up showers on and off all afternoon—nothing affected the joy felt by everyone in attendance. In fact, these happy images show that rain or shine, Sam and Ben enjoyed every minute of their beautiful, romantic wedding celebration!
Sam was stunning in her gorgeous tulle and lace wedding gown from The White Room Murfreesboro, which featured a beautiful train and sweet flowing fingertip veil. I’m kinda obsessed with all of the detailing on the top of her dress. The guys were dapper in navy jackets, vests, and neutral bow ties, whose shade perfectly matched the bridemaids’ lovely gowns. And did y’all see how cute their getting ready robes are?! And she’s rockin’ Kate Spade Keds, so y’all know I’m already obsessed!
With the weather being unpredictable, they decided to share a first look to ensure they had the opportunity for some outdoor pictures before the clouds came in. And I’m so glad that they did because Ben’s reaction and smile when he first seems Sam was just as precious as his reaction to her walking down the aisle shortly after. Sam and Ben’s ceremony included traditional vows and the solemn formation of an elegant unity cross. After sealing their union with a kiss, this couple was ready for dinner and a night of dancing! Their friends and family were totally ready to party & hit the dance floor quickly to show their moves.

Of course, it’s important to have a great backup plan for any outdoor wedding, and in this case, that plan worked out perfectly, as the professional team at Stone Gate Farm quickly and efficiently were able to relocate the ceremony indoors. Fortunately, we were able to sidestep many of the showers and take the majority of their photographs on the beautiful grounds outside. In fact, in one lucky moment, the sun appeared just long enough for us to shoot some sweet portraits at the venue’s proverbial stone gate! Thank you Mother Nature!
Wedding couples often worry about the weather, but this wedding is a perfect example of that with good planning and a great team, not even rain can affect the happiness of a wedding day (in fact, it’s even good luck!) I’m loving this rainy wedding because Sam and Ben embraced the weather & were able to even go outside at the end of the night for a few last romantic portraits—made even more beautiful by the soft, drizzling drops that reflected the moonlight. These are some of my favorites from their day… although that’s really hard to choose!
