A Stormy Engagement Session at Arrington Vineyards

WEDDINGS

October 11, 2022

Ashley and Chris selected one of our favorite spots in Middle TN! An engagement Session at Arrington Vineyards is always a good time. It was a rainy day, but the skies cleared up just in time for a stunning sunset. The storm clouds created a romantic backdrop for an intimate engagement photo session that celebrated Ashley and Chris’s love.

Arrington Vineyards is located near Nashville, Tennessee. It is situated on 50 acres of rolling hills where visitors can enjoy the scenery by taking walks or going on bike rides. With beautiful gardens and water features, this vineyard is the perfect venue for wedding photos or engagement shoots.

Ashley and Chris chose to take advantage of the stunning backdrop of Arrington Vineyards as they posed together in front of the camera. The weather had been unpredictable all day, but as if it were meant to be, the skies cleared up right before sunset and created a breathtaking view with a dramatic sky full of dark clouds and golden sunlight streaking through them.

It’s not every day you get to capture such beautiful moments like Ashley and Chris did during their Engagement Session at Arrington Vineyards. When life gives you lemons (or rain!), you make lemonade (or find a beautiful cloudy backdrop)! Their story goes to show us that no matter what life throws your way, true love will always prevail—and it will be even more special if you have someone amazing like Ashley or Chris by your side! Congratulations again to Ashley & Chris! We can’t wait for your wedding day!

Ashley rocked it with her adorable dresses and her hair is stunning! Sometimes rainy humid days can wreak havoc on hair. Here are a few helpful tips for you to try on your hair! Remember, all hair’s unique so try these ideas out before your photoshoot! Who knows, you may just discover a new favorite hair trick!

It’s a universal truth that on rainy, humid days, hair has the tendency to transform into a frizz-fest. As much as we love the weather, the humidity can ruin a perfectly good hair day in no time. So, if you’re tired of the struggle, here are some tips to frizz-proof your hair on those rainy and humid days.

Prep Your Hair with a Serum: On a humid day, a good hair serum can be your savior. It helps to tame any flyaways and frizz before it even starts. Before you step out, take a small amount of serum and distribute it evenly in your hair, work it in from the mid-lengths to the ends. This will help to hold your hair in place and keep it looking sleek.

Say No to Heat Styling Tools: Using hot tools on rainy days is just inviting frizz to your hair. Avoid using any heat styling tools like straighteners or curling irons. To embrace the natural wave or texture of your hair, use braids or twists to style it. Secure with bobby pins or elastics and leave them in until your hair is dry. Once you remove the pins or elastics, you’ll be left with bouncy, frizz-free hair.

Make Friends with Dry Shampoo: Dry shampoo is not just for lazy days, it can also help you to keep your hair under control on a humid day. When your hair is looking greasy and limp, dry shampoo can give it some volume and texture, which will help to keep it frizz-free. Apply dry shampoo to your roots, and gently massage it into your scalp with your fingertips, until it disappears.

Tie it Up in a Bun: Sometimes the easiest solution to frizz is to tie your hair up in a bun. It’s a classic look that’s effortless and chic. Gather your hair into a low, loose ponytail, then twist it and wrap it around itself to create a bun, and secure it with hairpins. Spray some hairspray directly onto the bun to hold it in place.

Avoid Touching Your Hair: Lastly, avoid the urge to touch your hair throughout the day. Running your fingers through your hair can create friction which can lead to frizz. Carry a small brush or comb with you to untangle any knots instead.
