WHAT IS A BRIDAL SESSION & SHOULD I HAVE ONE?
What is a bridal session? Over the last century, Bridal portraits have become a Southern Tradition, a rite of passage for women as they transition into married life. However, Bridal Sessions have evolved over the years. Traditionally these sessions were indoors & featured a serious, stoic bride. Today, most brides are more contemporary & are opting for a much more personalized and natural look. Having a Bridal session is a perfect way to honor your family history & keep pace with a long-standing tradition while capturing your youth & elegance in a style of your own. Often times Bridal portraits are used for wedding announcements in your hometown newspaper.
There is no rule that says your Bridal portrait needs to be at your wedding venue. You can choose someplace different for these portraits. You’ve invested a lot in your dress & look, so why not have photos in different locations to showcase your style.
Get a sneak peek. Choosing your wedding day look can be stressful. You are making hundreds of tiny decisions & don’t get to see everything come together until the wedding day. With a Bridal Session you are able to truly see what you will look like on your wedding day. Complete from head to toe. You have the opportunity to make desired changes prior to the big day.
Traditionally, brides display portraits from their session at the wedding reception. Contemporarily, our brides find that Bridal portraits are a sweet gift to their fiance during their first look.
Most of all – you have the time to relax & have fun! We will have time for both traditional photos as well as creative & fun ones. If you have a vision of sitting in a beautiful chair in a field with a floral crown – lets make that a reality, incorporating props such as antique cars, vintage parasols, lakes, or even horses!
