PANAMA CANAL pt. 1 – aruba
PERSONAL | TRAVEL

This time in 2014 we had the privilege to go on a family vacation with Mahlia’s family to the Panama Canal. We’re feeling a bit nostalgic and wanted to share some of our favorite moments with y’all. We boarded a Princess Cruise in Florida and sailed to Panama, Columbia, Aruba, Jamaica, & Costa Rica for 11 nights.

When the ship docked in Aruba we were amazed by how picturesque the city was. The blues, greens, corals, and golds screamed tropical paradise. We headed off to explore all that the oceanfront had to offer and had such a blast snapping shots of the town.

don’t palm trees just scream paradise?Cruise_560Cruise_550

Seriously, is it just us or do palm trees seem more…palmier in the Caribbean than they do stateside? Walking the boardwalk next to the water.

Cruise_029Cruise_027Cruise_026Cruise_025Cruise_055Cruise_054We can say with complete certainty that Aruba is a destination we will be visiting again. fruit & veggie creations

After reboarding the ship we spent a bit of time being entertained by some of the kitchen staff. They were using items such as eggplants, grapefruits, oranges, kiwi, and all sorts of tropical fruit to create these adorable animals.

Cruise_225Cruise_526Cruise_486The water was so clear you could see right through it yet also managed to be bluer than the sky. We have been to quite a few spots in the Caribbean but the water was so much more beautiful than we expected in Aruba.Cruise_480Cruise_426After reboarding the Coral Princess we watched as smaller boats sped through the water around the pier and as planes landed at the Aruba airport.Cruise_419Cruise_416Cruise_230Cruise_228Cruise_226
When our first inquiry comes in for an Aruba destination wedding photographer we will swoon!

Night light fun
After dinner we headed out to a lower deck to watch as we pulled away from the port. The lights of the city were sparkling as we passed the Aruba airport I decided to play around with the lights and do some painting, here are a few of my favorites.
