PANAMA CANAL pt. 5
PERSONAL | TRAVEL
This time in 2014 we had the privilege to go on a family vacation with Mahlia’s family to the Panama Canal. We’re feeling a bit nostalgic and wanted to share some of our favorite moments with y’all. We boarded a Princess Cruise in Florida and sailed to Panama, Columbia, Aruba, Jamaica, & Costa Rica for 11 nights.
We had been to Jamaica once before, on our honeymoon cruise in 2011, so when our itinerary brought us back to Ocho Rios, we thought we knew what to expect. We were wrong.
Three years earlier, we’d docked at a shipping yard (the same one from Doctor No!), had to hike to a taxi stand to get anywhere in the city. Now, we pulled up to a beautiful new pier with all this new shopping and dining!Yep, check out the awesome chic hairstyles we’re rocking here. To say it was a bit windy that day would be a massive understatement.
After we wandered around the pier we headed back onto the ship for fun, games, and family time.Baked Alaska. We have never seen this dessert before! It was pretty cool (pun intended – since it’s ice cream! HA!) The wait staff had a big dance routine that they performed while bringing dessert out. For lunch the crew turned one of the bars on board into a pub and served Fish & Chips, Shepherds Pie, and Bangers & Mash. It was a fun change and the food was delicious!Mahlia’s sisters are crazy but adorably lovable. There was hardly a moment that wasn’t filled with laughter.
